Planning is underway to design and construct a new parking deck on the south of the Holmes Center. This deck is anticipated to provide 550 parking spaces. Investigative work needs to take place to establish the subsurface conditions and viability of the project.
Having received approval to demolish this facility, it was planned to remove this complex of buildings Summer 2016. However, bids received exceeded the budget, and increased spending authority is required from UNC General Administration to award the project. D.H. Griffin was the low bidder.
This project will provide an up-fit to the currently vacant space in what was previously First Presbyterian Church. The up-fit will provide much needed faculty office space and two new classrooms. Construction documents are in process. LS3P is the designer of record and Vannoy was selected as the Construction Manager at Risk. Construction completion is targeted for Summer 2017.
This facility is designed as a 203,000 GSF academic center for allied health programs. Specialty simulation labs, classrooms and support space will bring the various departments within the College to a central location. Construction will begin in July 2016, and completion is slated for Fall 2018 occupancy. LS3P is the architect, and Rodgers is the Construction Manager at Risk.
Construction documents for this project are 90% complete. This project has been put on hold pending further approvals for funding.
This project includes the repair/replacement of steam and condensate lines along Rivers Street. Due to the vertical location of the manhole in Center Street, the road was raised by approximately four feet. Also included is a new condensate line from Garwood Hall to Harper Hall.
Drainage improvements to the existing fields is the focus of this project. Working with the Army Corps of Engineers and the Town of Boone, it is anticipated that this project will utilize spoils from the stream improvements being undertaken by the Army Corps of Engineers.
This project includes energy savings improvements to multiple campus facilities, including lighting replacements, fume hood replacements, HVAC efficiencies, and a new data center for the campus. This project is underway and will continue until December 2015.
